PENGARUH METODE PENYIMPANAN BENIH TERHADAP PERKECAMBAHAN KENANGA (Cananga odorata (Lam.) Hook. F. & Thoms)

ABSTRACT
An experiment on the viability of Cananga odorata (Lam.) Hook. F. & Thoms seed was conducted in different treatment storage method. The seed type of Cananga odorata is recalsitran. The seeds were treated with 4 treatments: K= without storage, A1=common storage (at room temperature 230 - 270C ) for 2 weeks , A2= storage at refrigerator temperature 80C for 2 weeks, A3= storage at silica gel for 2 weeks. Cananga odorata is anonaceae family which consist of essential oils that has medicinal effect. The results was analized by Complete Random Design, which consist of 4 treatment that replicated 3 times and 50 samples at each replicate.The result indicated that the treatment gave effects on the initial days of germination, the percentage of seed viability and the growth rate of seedling. The different traetments for 2 weeks in generally gave lower seed viability than control (K). Storage methode at silica gel (A3) is better than other storage methode (A1 and A2) if we will save cananga seed for 2 weeks.
