ABSTRACT
Family Arecaceae (Palm) has high diversity on its species. Indonesia which the highest diversity of palm in the world is needs to conserve their collection because of high exploitation of palm species. Purwodadi Botanic Garden is Plants Conservation ex-situ Institution especially in lowland and dry climate area. The development of seed conservation and germination is also needed to maintain the palm collection in Purwodadi Botanical Garden. The aim of this study was to discuss of germination type of Sabal palmetto, Livistona australis and Licuala grandis in Purwodadi Botanical Garden. The results showed that seed behavior of Sabal palmetto and Livistona australis are ortodoks, but Licuala grandis is recalcitrant. Viabilities of Sabal palmetto (44%), Livistona australis (15%) and Licuala grandis (72%). Type of germination is remote ligular with difference time of stage.
